Turkey herb gravy almost makes itself!

This Turkey Herb Gravy recipe is easiest to make if you make it alongside the recipe for Turkey Basted in Herbs.

PREPARATION TIME: 25 MINUTES

COOKING TIME: 35 MINUTES

SERVES: 10 to 12

pan juices from roasting turkey

1 or 2 cups chicken broth

4 tablespoons butter

4 tablespoons flour

1 tablespoon sugar

salt and pepper to taste

Strain the turkey pan juices into a measuring jug. Spoon off as much of the excess fat as you can. Add chicken broth (if needed) to bring the total volume to 4 cups.

Melt the butter in a large, heavy saucepan. Add the flour and stir for 1 minute.

Gradually whisk in the broth. Add the sugar. Simmer until the gravy thickens slightly, whisking often, about 10 minutes.

Season with salt and pepper.

Serve hot with your turkey.
