Spicy Sausage Puffs
Simple Appetizer Recipe Anyone Can Make In Minutes
spicy sausage puffs
MAKES: 16
8 ounces puff pastry, or 2 sheets if using pre-rolled, thawed
4 ounces spicy, cured chorizo sausage, finely chopped
1/2 cup cheese (your choice), grated
1 egg, whisked
1 teaspoon paprika
Roll your pastry out thinly if using a block, otherwise just place your sheets on a clean surface ready to start.
Take a 3 inch cutter and cut out as many rounds as you can. You need at least 16, so gather any scraps and roll them if you need to use them.
Preheat your oven to 425F. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Toss the sausage and grated cheese together.
Drop a little of the sausage mixture onto a pastry round, fold over and pinch the sides together to seal. Repeat with all the pieces.
Lay all the pastries onto your baking tray and brush them with the egg. Sprinkle lightly with paprika and bake for 10 minutes or so.
They are cooked when they are golden and puffed.
Serve warm.
TIP:
- Save time. I always make these Spicy Sausage Puffs with frozen puff pastry sheets. They are so convenient to use and work really well.
- You can make these puffs ahead of time. They will store in the fridge for a few days. Just warm in the oven before serving.
